cre8audio Assembler
Analog vintage audio mixer in Eurorack format
Assembler is a synthesizer-focused audio mixer, meticulously engineered to deliver unsurpassed vintage console sound and intuitive, hands-on control. Developed in collaboration with the renowned Pittsburgh Modular Synthesizers team, Assembler builds on the rich history and sonic warmth of classic analog audio mixers while offering a modern workflow specifically designed for contemporary electronic artists.
The idea behind Assembler was not only to provide a super-flexible tool for mixing in the studio or live, but also a sound-sculpting tool that adds depth and complexity, helping to make your sound even better with its special Pittsburgh-designed circuitry!
Built-in Vibe
Inspired by the sound of the legendary analog mixing consoles that have shaped music production for decades, Assembler captures the essence of vintage mixers, known for their warmth, character, and dynamics, through sound shaping and emulation of analog tape saturation. The circuitry developed by Pittsburgh Modular for Assembler utilizes signal contouring and gentle compression to unify the overall mix. This process emulates the signal chain prized in vintage recordings, adding the warmth, cohesion, and character often lacking in other mixers. The result is a better-sounding mixer for modern electronic music.
A Variety of Options
Assembler’s ten audio inputs are divided into three different mixer channel types for seamless integration into various audio scenarios and workflows, but all ten channels share several features. Each input features a powerful preamp with up to 20x gain, ideal for amplifying line-level signals, subtly enhancing clarity, or aggressively saturating signals. Three assignable aux sends add flexible audio processing options to each channel. Three-segment LED meters, independent headphone cue, and channel mute enable precise and comprehensive monitoring. Channels 1 and 2 offer comprehensive tone control with vintage-style EQ controls, each providing ±15 dB of boost or cut, while all six mono inputs have their own pan control. Two sets of stereo inputs take advantage of the powerful preamps and assignable aux sends to work with both Eurorack and line-level signals, enabling seamless integration with a wide variety of electronic instruments.
Aux Flexibility
The Assembler offers great flexibility with its three assignable aux send channels. They allow for effortless integration of external effects such as reverbs and delays or serve as submix channels. Two stereo returns and one mono return, each with independent gain settings (up to 2.7x gain), enable both creative experimentation and professional signal mixing.
Modern Vintage Analog for Every Setup
Assembler places the highest priority on ease of use with its intuitive one-knob-per-function design. Every function, whether EQ adjustment, aux routing, panning, or level adjustment, is immediately accessible, ensuring a seamless, frustration-free mixing experience. Users new to audio mixers will appreciate the ease of use, while experienced artists will immediately feel at home with the familiar analog mixer functions, which are clearly presented.
Assembler can handle both line-level instruments and Eurorack signals and can be easily integrated into any studio or live setup. A dedicated headphone output with a separate cue mix ensures detailed and reliable monitoring in live situations, allowing musicians to confidently preview and adjust their sounds.
Assembler deliberately avoids superfluous features found in many modern Eurorack mixers and focuses exclusively on superior audio quality, intuitive usability, and robust reliability. The result is a professional-quality audio mixer that delivers an exceptional analog sound experience at a significantly lower price than competitors.
Assembler continues this tradition by seamlessly combining proven analog sound processing with modern Eurorack flexibility.
And for all you noise artists, it’s also self-oscillating, if that’s important.
